Wizard Grunge / Psychedelic Sludge

Melding sludge fueled riffs akin to The Melvins, Kyuss and Black Sabbath with the sonic alchemy of psychedelic soundscapes and atmospheric composition, Groom the Giant call themselves Wizard Grunge or Psych-sludge.

Groom the Giant began in the summer of 2021 after jams in a barn in North Wales. After solidifying the line up with Jake Davies, James Laszlow, Taran Charlton Blore and Jake Aston in early 2022 they began gigging under the name Groom the Giant, inspired by an old Welsh folktale “Culhwch and Olwen”. After releasing their debut EP "Culhwch" in March 2024, Groom the Giant are currently working on their follow up for later on in the year.
